McKee Botanical Garden......Vero Beach, Florida

Originally called McKee Jungle Gardens and set on 80 acres it was the idea of Arthur G. McKee and Waldo Sexton. Opened in 1932 with the guidance of landscape architect William Lyman Phillips. Water lilies are the theme surrounded by native and exotic plants from around the world. In 1940 Sexton built the Hall of Giants to house the largest single plank mahogany table, measuring 35 feet long by 5 feet by 4inches. In 1976 the gardens closed to be rescued and reopened in 2001, cut down to 18 acres. For those who love tropical vegetation and photography you'll be in heaven here.Located at 350 U.S. 1, Vero Beach, FL 32962
