Loren G, "Totch" Brown was born on Chokoloskee, Island FL, in 1920. In 1880, his great-grandfather John J Brown settled here in Florida. Soon after his maternal grandfather, Charles G. McKinney, came to the area, Totch Brown's life is described in his book "Totch A life in the Everglades".
